Market in Orce

The food has been tremendous. The costs are a fraction of what we pay back home- the tastes larger than life. All of the senses are assaulted (in a good way!)- just by seeing the pictures you'll get the idea:

The panaderias or the bread shops aren't as prolific as the boulangeries in France but the bread has been rustic, fresh and YUMMY! We arrived in Orce (a remote town north of Granada to stay in our cave, see the archeological remains that are some of the oldest in Europe and attend the huge village festival-that starts later today) on Monday.

Yesterday shopping for provisions we entered the only 'supermarket' in town. It was about the size of a 1500 square foot apartment yet carried everything you could need. When we went to pick out our bread the very nice fellow----

gotta run! The very nice Mac and Gayle, a British couple living in Orce and exporters of ham have just arrived for a Paella making session!

  1. Evan is so happy to have "found" you! Misses you terribly and is working on the fruit that starts with P. (I sent him to bed :( Love hearing your adventures - memories of Granada, la Alhombra, Cordoba are all coming back! Cheers!
